A tall, sturdy man with classic good looks that served him well across his decades-spanning screen career, Peter Haskell worked in everything from the TV drama "Bracken's World" to the "Child's Play" slasher-flick franchise. After serving in the Army and gaining a Bachelor's degree from Harvard, Haskell was set to attend Columbia Law School in New York when an ex-professor recommended him for an off-Broadway show. Once he caught the acting bug performing in the show--Deric Washburn's "The Love Nest," with James Earl Jones and Sally Kirkland--he didn't look back, and was soon winning parts on such prime-time series as the mid-1960s hospital drama "Ben Casey" and playing silver-haired writer/producer Kevin Grant on the studio-lot-set "Bracken's World." The show's two-season run brought him enough TV screen time to keep him in small roles throughout the 1970s, with his next major coup coming when he landed the part of Charles Estep on "Rich Man, Poor Man--Book II." Peter Haskell, a prolific stage, screen and TV actor who starred in the television series Bracken's World, died April 12, 2010, at his home in Northridge, California. He was 75 and, according to news reports, the cause of death was a heart attack.

Haskel is perhaps best known for the role of writer-producer Kevin Grant on Bracken's World, a drama that took a backstage look at the film industry. The series aired on NBC in 1969 and 1970. IN the early 1980s he had a regular role on the ABC daytime drama Ryan’s Hope.
