Haim (HY-im;[1] meaning "life" in Hebrew,[a]) is an American rock band, based in Los Angeles, composed of three sisters, Este (bass guitar and vocals), Danielle (lead vocals, guitar, and drums), and Alana Haim (guitars, keyboards, and vocals). In addition to their primary instruments, each is proficient in several others.
The sisters grew up in a musical family, and began playing instruments from an early age in the cover band Rockinhaim, fronted by their parents, Moti and Donna. Michael Thomas, 75, of Milledgeville passed away Monday January 6, at his home. Michael was born October 11, in Sterling the son of Richard and Marian (Olmstead) Thomas. He married Sandra Newman on October 11, in Rock Falls.
Michael was a charter member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association), and a retired member of the Rock River Riders. He loved spending time with his siblings and family.
Survivors include two sons Brent (Jaime) Thomas, and Shane (Crystal Woodward) Thomas both of Dixon; one daughter Brandi (Andy) Love of Milan; two brothers Brad Thomas of Sterling, and Greg (Sharon) Thomas of Davis IL; one sister Linda Thomas of Rockford; one step-son Timothy (Melissa) Maloy; two step-daughters Barbara Diane Quiroz of IN, and Nancy Kathleen Maloy of Abington IL;seven grandchildren Landen Love, Mason Love, Hudson Love, Halle Love, Ian Thomas, Jack Thomas, and Jersey Thomas; seventeen step-grandchildren; and eleven step great-grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons Noah Thomas, and Henry Thomas.
Memorial service will be 3PM Saturday January 11, at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 1PM-3PM at the funeral home.
